Podcasting Equipment

Our Old Equipment Page

We gather sometime on Saturday afternoon to record the show.

We have two ways to record the show, On Location or at our "studio".

All the audio is passed to a Mackie 1402-VLZ3 14 Channel mixing board.

From there all audio is passwd through a dbx 266XL compressor to clean up the sound

All of our equipment connects to a Furman M8 Merit Series Power Conditioner

From the compressor then the audio goes to our digital recorder. Marantz PMD-660 Portable Compact Flash Digital Recorder - This also what we use when we are out on the field for on location recording. We also use Lexar 1GB 4x Compact Flash Card with the Recorder. We are looking at getting a larger card later on.

M-AUDIO O2 25-Key Ultra-Thin Mobile USB MIDI Controller This is what we use at our studio for all of our sound effects with Garageband. Garageband is also what we use to make all of the intro and sounds for the show too.

We use a MacBook? Pro 17" Core Duo 2.16Ghz, 2GB DDR2?, 250GB HD for the sound effects and store and compress the audo with mAC3dec then finally we produce the audio out as a podcast using Podcast Maker

All Participants are required to have headphones & microphones. All Microphones have a wind screen on them:

Audio-Technica ATH-M40fs Headphones

Rolls HA43 Stereo Headphone Amp

AKG Perception 200 These are our main mics

MXL 990 & 991 These are our guest mics or on location mikes

These are a must to get rid of all than noise that holding a mic makes. Also frees your hands to type on the puter.

Gear Skin mixer bag to Store most of our equipment in.
